Freedom Accessible Solutions, LLC is a specialty company whose sole purpose is providing a single point of contact for those needing their homes changed in order to accommodate their physical challenges. At FAS our job is to make the changes necessary to enable person with disabilities free range of access to as much of their home as possible.

• The concept for the company came when I took a course designed to enable me to be able to serve people with disabilities in purchasing a home. When I looked for companies to make these modifications I found none. When I discussed this with people I know who have either had these modifications made for themselves or a close family member I learned of the frustration they went through trying to get this done.
• Given a choice between building a new home, adding a room on or some other large project and doing ADA compliant environmental modifications; all the builders I questioned would rather take the big projects except one.
  
• The one builder who actually had experience in ADA compliant, environmental modifications and welcomed the business is Jim Skutka and his company Artefice Builders, LLC. 
• Jim is licensed, insured and bonded and has done many of these projects.
  
• I have good friend, Captain Randy LaCreta, USMC retired. I have knew him for starting at The Basic School when we were both Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps and kept in touch for 28 years. Captain Lacreta was a helicopter pilot flying CH-46's at Marine Corps Air Station, New River.  He became completely disabled as a due to Multiple Sclerosis. When I had layovers in the Cleveland Ohio area I tried to make it a point to visit him and his wife, Ramona. We talked extensively about the needs of the disabled and about the frustrations they run into when a one-size-fits-all approach is taken to meet their needs. I learned a lot from Randy and he was my chief inspiration for starting Freedom Accessible Solutions. In August 2011 Randy's battle with MS ended when he passed away. His memory, remains the inspiration for our work.
